Celebrate Veteran’s Day with a walk in their shoes on
Saturday, November 11 from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm at Shawnee Town 1929! On this very special lantern–led walking tour, it’s 1927 and ex–servicemen of World War I are in town lobbying for veteran’s rights. Visitors will have the chance to meet veterans, community members, and advocates who stories of their lives and the hardships veterans faced returning to civilian life while fighting for adequate support.
This immersive living history experience will be guided in groups beginning every 20 minutes from the Visitor Center, with the last tour departing at 8:00 pm. Admission is $10 per person and
FREE admission for active and former military. Tickets will open by August 1 and
Pre–registration is required. Please arrive 15 minutes before your tour. Guests should expect walking and standing with some limited seating. Following the tour, guests are served complimentary hot cider around a bonfire with accompanying music. Event held rain or shine, so dress for the weather!
